Google Maps Install Error

Today I went with Adamz Smoked Glass Rom. Everything is working fine but I noticed today that I do not have "Google Maps" Navigation. This is one of the best features imo about this phone.
I went to the Market.
Downloaded Google Maps Free.
Installation Error:
Package file was not signed correctly,

I get this error every time I try to install it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah Wu-Tang this is a know issue. Just take a look at the SG rom 6.01 post there is a fix mentioned just after the rom info.

Here you go...

1) opened the app Root Explorer
2) navigated to /system/apps and made the folder Read/Writeable
3) longpress on maps.apk to rename the maps.apk to maps.apk.bak (remove it if you wish...I don't like deleting things)
4) made the folder Read/Only
5) rebooted
6) menukey > Settings/Applications/Managed Applications/ menukey > filter > all
7) located com.android.google.apps.maps which has a size of 0.00b
8) clicked it and uninstalled
9) went to the market, located and installed maps.
10) enjoy

You can also use Terminal Emulator.
Open Terminal Emulator and type in:

su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
rm /system/apps/maps.apk
mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system

(make sure you hit enter after each line of text)
reboot and you should be able to install Google Maps.

Step 7 didn't work for me, I could not find com.android.google.apps.maps. If this happens to you, in Root Explorer search for "maps". You should see it in the directory /data/data. Delete it from there and then try step 7 and so on...

You need to use make sure you use the filter/all setting in step 6.

I did bro, did not work for me when 6.1 first came out. I got the workaround from some other user on here that ran into the same issue. Hope that helps Wu-Tang

This did not work for me sighrus. I don't see "com.android.google.apps.maps" in the list with the "filter set to all".

In Root Explorer I don't see where it gives you the option to make it read/writeable?

The R/W option is at the top of Root Explorer, under your clock and 3G icons. Its a grey button, press it and it should change, you'll see it. Then press menu on Root Explorer and search for maps. I found mine in the /data/data folder.

Hmm not there. In /data/data the closest thing I see is "com.android.globalsearch"

Still unable to install Google Maps.

Forgot to mention in the search I did find this "/data/data/com.google.android.apps.maps" <---- It's not the same wording but it looks like what im looking for or should I not mess with that one?
