camera zoom fx is just frickin awesome

Yes you can choose the white balance - there's quite a few settings that I found have helped and I have got some great pics on my G1 and now on my Droid.

Camera ZOOM FX has been out a lot longer and from what I can see has loads more features - voice activation, stable shot, photo booth, etc. they add new stuff all the time

Pro Zoom is good for drawing on your photos after but I say go for Camera ZOOM FX and use it with PicSay for the ultimate combination!!! Both unbeatable apps.

Sarah, my major gripe is not being able to adjust the settings against low lit or dark conditions with the stock camera. Can Camera Zoom have the capabilities to tweak before the shot?

My concern too is the lack of low light capability with original Droid camera. If Camera Zoom FX provides better low light capability, I'm on it!

What problems did you have? I've had the app for months now and never had any problems on G1 or Droid.

So I tried Camera FX yesterday in an effort to test.

- Overall my experience was not great. Using the built in Video option, my Droid force closed a number of times when I tried to select it.

- Low light performance is no different from the stock app

- The app force closed twice on me during picture taking/selection

- I found it slow to take a quick shot. From the time I select the icon on my desktop to the time I can take the shot is too slow.

- It has many effects which if you are someone that enjoys those are great. However if you are looking for raw picture quality, you should look elsewhere.

- Maybe it was just me, but I could not get my flash working well with the app.




In summary, if you like effects, the app is good. I cannot recommend anything else past that. I'm going back to PRO Zoom Camera. I refunded Camera Zoom FX after about about 4 hours testing.

One other thing I forgot. I tried to use TasKiller to clean out other apps from running on my phone during testing. It did not seem to help much.

I find it disappointing that they recommend to use a third party app like TasKiller to clean up running apps on my phone - shouldn't need to do that.
