    Battery drain 2G(1x) vs 3g

    Is there that much of a battery drain between 3g and 2g? or are these apps more for people who don't have good 3g coverage in their area so the phone is always looking for a 3g signal therefore draining the battery?

    I found this app called Toggle 2G and it's supposed to turn 2g on while the phone is asleep or screen is off to save battery...

    does 3G actually use that much more battery compared to 2G/1X mode?

    Really? Nobody cares about this issue regarding battery drain and 2g/3g? I'm surprised since everyone talks about battery saving issues here

    Wow. Did you notice you replied exactly 12 hours after your last post?

    Anyways, I guess the reason no one responded was because no one knew. Maybe someone should take the time and actually test it and see. If it is a good difference, it might be beneficial to turn off 3g when you won't be web browsing or something. Just wondering.

    Well I'm not sure, I was hoping someone had done the research.

    cool about the time too lol

    I can try I guess and see how long it lasts at work on thursday as I use my phone th emost there
